Project Overview:

Sarala Foundation is a non-profit organisation working to empower women and underserved communities through education, leadership, and inclusion. The organisation needed a digital platform that could communicate its vision, impact, and initiatives with both empathy and authority, while making it easy for donors, partners, and visitors to engage and support the mission.

Our goal was to design and develop a website that felt warm, trustworthy, and action-oriented, reflecting Sarala’s grassroots commitment while presenting it with global polish.

Objectives:

  • Showcase Sarala’s projects, values, and stories with emotional depth and clarity
  • Drive engagement through donations, volunteering, and partnerships
  • Create a clean, mobile-friendly site that’s easy to navigate and update
  • Design with empathy, inclusivity, and accessibility at the forefront

Design & UX Approach:

  • Human-Centred Visual Identity: We chose a soft yet confident colour palette, paired with compassionate imagery that honours the communities Sarala serves.
  • Story-Driven Layout: The website’s structure leads with why Sarala exists, followed by what they do and how visitors can get involved.
  • Clear User Journeys: Whether you’re a donor, partner, or someone seeking support, the site guides you intuitively to the right place.
  • Mobile-First Experience: Designed responsively to ensure accessibility on all devices, especially in regions with high mobile usage.

Development Highlights:

  • Custom WordPress development with flexible content blocks for easy content updates
  • Integrated secure donation system to support fundraising efforts
  • Built-in blog and news section for storytelling and updates
  • SEO-optimised architecture to enhance visibility among donors, NGOs, and media
  • Lightweight code and fast load times for users in bandwidth-limited areas

Results:

  • A strong digital identity that reflects Sarala’s mission with emotional impact and professional polish
  • Improved engagement through clearer navigation and call-to-action placement
  • Increased credibility among partners and grant providers
  • A sustainable digital platform that the Sarala team can manage independently
